About Me

Scott Morgan understands that Banking Texas Style is rooted in some long-standing principles.

“Banking Texas Style emphasizes the importance of treating your customers with kindness and respect and embodying the phrase ‘southern hospitality,’” Scott said. “As an Eagle Scout, I was taught to leave a place better than you found it. My goal is to carry this principle into my work and ensure my customers are better off than before we first met.”

A Lufkin native, Scott graduated from Lufkin High school. He earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University but knew that Lufkin would always be his home.

“After graduating from Texas A&M, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do so I moved back to Lufkin and went to work for a small financial company,” he said. “Eventually, I got connected with CBTx and began as an assistant internal auditor with the desire to learn everything about banking.”

He’s grateful to be back home and working in a job that encourages him to be active in his community. 

“CBTx prioritizes not only community involvement but getting to know our customers on a personal level,” he said. “My favorite part about my job is meeting new people and building relationships with my customers.”

Scott is a member of the Lufkin Host Lions Club. He attends First Baptist Church of Lufkin.

Fun Facts

What was your first job?

During the summertime, I worked at my family farm with my ranch hand fixing fences, mowing, tending our longhorns, and other general maintenance.

What book has had the biggest impact on you?

The Bible.

What kind of music inspires you, and why?

Folk music, because it often tells a story, is humble, and brings a sense of peace.

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Harvesting my first buck with my dad.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Storm chaser.
